Our Story

We were living in a wasteland. No good music, no good fun, and no good beer.

So we decided to make our own. We brought home our first homebrew kit- filled with that sticky bitter malt extract, a pittance of grains, and a couple ziplocs of hops- Then we left again, to get some supplies in town. When we returned, we discovered a small mess of the grains and chewed cardboard strewn about the floor. Paxton had made his way into the box while we were out and took a liking to the sweet, bready malts that we clearly had left for him. From then on, we always joked that our first beer had “a lil bit of dog slobber” in it. Since then, it’s shaped our philosophy on beer. Rich, unfiltered, no additives- good enough make your jowls drip.

But we believe beer is so much more than a product, it’s a lifestyle. Breweries are often local spaces that bring folks together. Our favorite breweries have an authentic community vibe. And we realized: we love building community in ALL our endeavors. Em has spent a lifetime using theatre as a means to connect and draw people into shared experiences, and Zach has spent a lifetime using RPGs as a means to build a space for collaborative storytelling. Some people might think we’re too many things: beer, games, theatre. But we say we’re ONE thing: community. Beer, games and theatre bring people together in shared, live experiences. So we’re building the kind of space we want, with not really any rules except a commitment to PLAY.

Where does our Dog Slobber come from?
